Chase Sapphire Preferred card raises new member sign on bonus to 100k

Hey Card Curator Community, we've got BIG news coming out of the credit card rewards sphere today! Chase has just announced that it will be raising it's new cardholder sign on bonus for the Sapphire Preferred card to... 100,000 points!

But wait -- Didn't they just raise the bonus from 60,000 to 80,000 a few months ago? Yes. And let's be clear: The 80,000 point offer was a very good deal, so the fact they've elevated it by another 20,000 makes this a must have for anyone who doesn't already have the Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

What do I have to do to get the Chase Sapphire Preferred Bonus?

In order to get the sign on bonus you have to spend $4,000 or more on the card in your first 3 months, exactly the same as the prior deal. If you've got rent coming up, or a car payment, put it on your new card to help push you over the spending threshold.

What if I already have the Card? Am I out of luck?

No! (Well, maybe.) If you've had the card 48 months or more, then you're eligible to reapply and receive the bonus. If you've had the card for less, then you are, for now, going to have to wait to get to the 4 year mark.

How much are 100,000 Chase Points worth?

Currently, 100,000 is the equivalent of $1,250 dollars worth of travel expenses when booked through chase. For those who want to stretch the points even further, Chase has a vast list of of airline and hotel partners. You can send points at a 1:1 value to Chase affiliates such as Hyatt, Virgin Atlantic and United in order to take advantage of high value deals that they may be offering.

Of course, finding the best travel deals across all of the different airline and hotel partners can be difficult to do on your own, which is exactly why we're here. The Card Curator app uses a revolutionary web scraping algorithm to determine the most valuable way for you to use your points at the touch of a button.
