Trip Report: Le Saigonnais Lounge Part 3

2 minute read

Le Saigonnais Business Lounge SGN (international)

I arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport 2 hours prior to my Qatar Airways flight to Doha. Tan Son Nhat International Airport is divided into 2 terminals: terminal 1 and terminal 2. Terminal 1 only serves domestic operations while terminal 2 serves international destinations. The two terminals are separated by a short 5 minute walkway, making it easy to transfer between the two.

When I got to the Qatar Airways check-in desk, there was nobody waiting in the business class lane. I was able to quickly confirm my final destination of New York and get my two boarding passes: one for Doha and one for New York.

Security and exit formalities were a breeze and I was into the terminal and on my way to the lounge in no time. Since I was flying Qatar Airways Business Class, I had access to the Le Saigonnais Business Lounge. The lounge is located on the third floor in the far back corner. Once you exit security, you can just follow the clearly marked signs to walk towards the lounge.

Upon entering the lounge, I was greeted by an extremely pleasant service agent. As with most contract lounges, she told me that there would be NO boarding announcements for my flight and that I needed to keep track of my boarding time.

The buffet is immediately on the right of the entrance of the lounge.

For a contract lounge, the food options were surprisingly plentiful .There were  many native Vietnamese dishes, spring rolls and bahn mi mixed in with western cuisines.

There was even self-served Vietnamese pho! Yum Yum…

At the very end of the buffet was a self-serve open bar with a respectable variety of alcoholic beverages.

There was plenty of seating in the lounge with seats being around the buffet and also away and towards the floor-to-ceiling windows. When I was there, the lounge seemed like it was at 70% capacity, but there were still plenty of empty seats and I had no problem grabbing a table right by the buffet.

I really liked the design and layout of the lounge. There were traditional Vietnamese dresses displayed on the walls in the lounge and a very unique Vietnamese feel and allure.

I quickly chowed down some food and left for my boarding gate.

The Bottom Line

The Le Saigonnais Business Lounge SGN is an excellent lounge option for those departing from Ho Chi Minh’s international terminal. It offers a strong selection of both traditional Vietnamese food and western classics.
